“What is the ALS Parent Academy?”
The ALS Parent Academy is our new initiative that is open to ALL ALS parents/families. The academy was created in order to provide a “one-stop” location for ALL items that would be considered parent related. Our focus throughout the year will be to provide workshops that will empower/inform parents to build on our relationships with the community and continue to develop a collaborative of our families and staff. This will be accomplished by encouraging community partnerships, volunteer opportunities, informational sessions on the “how-to’s” of some of our programs used here at ALS and various topics that will be brought up throughout our academic year. One of the most important facets of education is the partnership developed between schools and families. This allows for a level of transparency that creates the ideal environment to support students and avoid potential items of concern later in the academic year.
In the future we will have sessions that are tailored to the needs and requests of our ALS families/community. The website will be evolving and constantly changing to suit the needs of our families/community stakeholders. If you find you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at any time.
So on behalf of A.L. Stanback Middle School, I welcome you to our Bulldog Blog and wish our incoming students continued academic/social success here in Bulldog Country!
